The Forgotten Volumes

nymphI maintain in my mind that there is some creature, a Muse, an Oracle, some sort of Fey that controls writer’s block. Right now, she has me in her thrall. I can’t seem to find my bearings. This may, or may not, have anything to do with the fact that I’ve been playing a lot of video games lately, mainly the Mass Effect series. However, I find they’re actually kick-starting my creative reserves, usually held in such tight check that I can’t find them.

I’m still trying to combat it, though. winter campaigns are always hard. That’s what I figure I’m in. A kind of wintry battle against the draw cold and pain put on me. I can’t blame it all on such things, but it’s as good an excuse as any, I suppose.

I’m going to re-read the YA novel that I’m writing to try and get me back in that world. I need to finish it, I think, before I can move on. I’ll also try to be more faithful to this little blog. I need to get into the habit of making sure my posts are completed. I’ve worked a little side-project up that should make that far easier.

In the meantime, any positive thoughts for me in this battle against the Fey and the ending of the writer’s block would be most welcome.
